Worden is a Census Designated Place in the area of the the Huntley Project, a large irrigation district established by the US Bureau of Reclamation in 1907. Back in the 1880's, the Northern Pacific Railroad was surveyed and built through this area. Supposedly, a station named "Clermont" was built right across the tracks from what is now Worden. The townsite of Worden was surveyed and platted in 1907 as part of the Huntley Project.
