Moonlight Basin

The Headwaters at Moonlight Basin
The Headwaters at Moonlight Basin

Moonlight Basin is the first new destination ski resort in the US in the last 20 years. Super steep chutes, open bowls, glades, and long gentle groomers are what it's about at Moonlight Basin. The base area was originally scheduled to be developed as another major mountain resort but then the 2008 "mortgage crisis" killed a lot of the financing for things. However, there are still more than few beautiful ski condos, townhomes, resort suites and luxury mountain home rentals in the area.

Moonlight Basin is 10 miles west of US Highway 191, 2 miles past Big Sky Resort, 45 miles south of Bozeman, Montana.
