Soldier Mountain Ski Resort |
Soldier Mountain |
Soldier Mountain Ski Resort offers central Idaho's best powder, best terrain park and best grooming, for those who like things a bit tamer. Soldier Mountain also offers central Idaho's only snow cat skiing on more than 1,500 acres of some of North America's best backcountry terrain. Soldier Mountain is 12 miles north of Fairfield off Highway 20 in the Sawtooth National Forest. It's 70 miles south to Twin Falls, 55 miles southwest to Mountain Home and 60 miles northeast to downtown Ketchum (just down the road from Sun Valley). Update: 2009: Bruce Willis bought into Soldier Mountain Ski Resort some time ago. In the spring of 2009, as the resort was shutting down operations for the summer, there was some conversation happening as to rebuild/refurb the main lodge. Then the building burned to the ground. A new 4,500-square-foot lodge was built and the resort re-opened on January 28, 2010. |
