The Brazos Cliffs
The Brazos Cliffs are easily visible to the east of US 64 between Tierra Amarilla and Chama. They are composed of 1.8 billion-year-old granite, formed about the same time as the Blanca Massif, the Wet Mountains and the Front Range of Colorado. This area is part of the Tierra Amarilla Land Grant and is mostly private land still. Near the foot of the cliffs are several businesses offering lodging, food, hunting in season and fishing in the Brazos River.
