Multiple tracts, all in Escalante Canyon west of Delta
ACRES: 5,019
HUNTING: Elk, deer, small game, pheasant, waterfowl, dove.
FISHING: Coldwater stream
RECREATION: Historical area, interpretive program, wildlife observation, hiking
RESTRICTIONS:

  • No dog training allowed on Lower Robideau and Hamilton tracts during upland migratory bird or game seasons.
  • Lower Robideau and Hamilton tracts closed March 15 to July 31.
  • Field trials may be authorized February, March, August, and September only.
  • Lower Robideau limited to youth mentor hunting, only 1 mentor per youth.

From Onarga Avenue in Paonia, go south on Lamborn Mesa Road (which turns into 4100 Road). At stop sign, turn right onto Stewart Mesa Road, which turns south and becomes 4050 Road. At the south end of 4050 Road bear left at the fork on L30 Road.
OPEN: May 1 to end of regular big game season.
HUNTING: Elk, deer, blue grouse, small game.
RESTRICTIONS: Closed except for hunting, fishing or trapping; no camping, fires or dogs allowed.

On Onarga Avenue in Paonia, go south 1 mile, turn left onto N80 Lane and go 2 miles to 4200 Road, then turn right and go 1 mile to parking area. Or, from Onarga Avenue go south on Lamborn Mesa Road to Minerich Road, turn and go 1 mile to parking area.
OPEN: May 1 to last day of regular big game season.
HUNTING: Elk, deer, small game
FISHING: Coldwater lake
RESTRICTIONS: No camping, fires or dogs allowed; Discharging firearms and hunting not allowed in open space easement; Closed except for hunting and fishing.
