The Ridge at Bridger Bowl Ski Area |
A non-profit (imagine that) ski area, Bridger Bowl Ski Area offers 1,500 acres of skiable terrain with a 2,000 foot vertical drop. The full-service lodge at the base area offers a ski school, rental shop, cafeteria, restaurant and bar. And mid-mountain there is a chalet with food and beverages. Bridger Bowl is kinda famous for "The Ridge." The Ridge is for experts only, in pairs, and with full avalanche gear on them. The Ridge has rock cliffs, steep chutes and big snowfields for those who want an extreme challenge. The terrain park is near the Powder Park Quad and has a 40' flat-down box, 8' kiddie box, 15' box, 10' set-up rail on a hip, and a barrel bonk. Plans are moving forward to add a 20' flat-down rail, a 30' up-flat-down battleship rail, a 20' tube rail, several 10' rails, a 30' flat-down-flat pro-shred rail, and a wallride. Bridger Bowl Ski Area is 16 miles northeast of Bozeman on Highway 86. |
