Whitefish Mountain Resort is located in the Rocky Mountains of northwest Montana, 4 miles north of Whitefish, 19 miles north of Glacier International Airport in Kalispell and 32 miles west of Glacier National Park. Whitefish Mountain Resort is one of the largest ski resorts in North America with over 3,000 acres of skiable terrain. Seven of the nine chairlifts service the front side of Whitefish Mountain. The back side offers more tree skiing terrain and is serviced by Chair 7, a hgh-speed quad. The backside also offers more terrain when T-Bar 2 is running on the weekends and holidays. The far side of the mountian is where you'll find Hell Roaring Basin. Hell Roaring Basin is characterized by tight tree skiing, vertical chutes and cliffs. You go there, you want to be expert. Whitefish Mountain Resort offers skiing and snowboarding (with several terrain parks on the mountain), cross-county skiing, snowshoeing, guided snowmobiling, and horse-drawn sleigh rides. |
