Adams Go 2 miles north of Walden on Highway 125. At CR 8, turn and go east 6.8 miles to CR 8A, then another 0.8 miles east to a two-track road. Follow two-track road 0.6 miles southeast to parking area. This route provides the only access into Adams and Sand Creek State Trust Lands, unless you are coming across the Colorado State Forest. Cohagen Go 6 miles southeast of Walden on Highway 14 to CR 21, then go east 1.8 miles to the property. East Delaney Butte Lake Go 1/2 mile north of Walden on Highway 14 to CR 12, then turn west and go 5.3 miles to CR 18. From there go another 4.5 miles west to CR 5, then 1 mile north to Delaney Butte Lakes State Wildlife Area. Property is east of the lake. Elk Mountain Take 5th Street east out of Walden and go 10 miles to CR 12. Go left about 2.5 miles to CR 12E over Elk Mountain and another 3.9 miles to the end of the road. Access only from Colorado State Forest and parking area at end of CR 12E. Independence Mountain Go 6 miles west from Cowdry on CR 6Y. Or, go 1/2 mile west from Walden on Highway 14, turn on CR 12 and go 8 miles west to CR 7, then go north 6 miles to property. Indian Creek Go north from Rand on CR 27 for 3.6 miles to CR 21. Johnny Moore Mountain Take Highway 14 southeast from Walden for 12.5 miles to CR 30. Go 1 mile to parking area. Or, take 5th Street east out of Walden until it becomes CR 12, then go 6.7 miles east to CR 23A. Turn south and go 4.2 miles, then go east. Or, once 5th Street turns into CR 12, go 10 miles east to CR 29, then turn and go 0.9 miles to parking area. Parking lot west of dam and parking lot 1/4 mile north of dam. Kemp Draw Go 6 miles southeast of Walden on Highway 14 to CR 21, then turn and go south for 1.3 more miles to property. MacFarlane Reservoir Go south of Walden on Highway 125 for 18 miles to CR 28, then turn and go west 2.1 miles to parking area, or go only 0.3 miles west to two-track road. For access to west portion of property, take access road 2.1 miles north, go left at fork, then go 0.7 miles to fence. Go through gate and follow road north on the west side of the fence for 1 mile. Take two-track road 0.8 miles west. Reservoir access also from BLM land. North Platte Go 1/2 mile west of Walden on CR 12, then go west 5.3 miles to CR 18. Turn and go another 2 miles west to bridge on the North Platte River. Fishing access is upstream from the bridge. For hunting access, take CR 9 south from bridge for 1 mile and access property west of BLM land. Owl Creek Take Highway 14 east for 9 miles from Walden to CR 25. Turn and go south on CR 25 for 4.5 miles to property, then go 0.7 miles to parking area. Timber activity may be present. Owl Mountain Go north from Rand on CR 27 for 7.6 miles to Forest Service Road 792, turn and go east 0.6 miles to BLM Road 2506 to property. Pinkham Mountain Go 13 miles north of Walden on Highway 125 to Highway 127, then go 9 miles north to CR 48 (FR 895). Then go west 1.5 miles to CR 49 (FR 891) and go south to the end of the road. Rabbit Ears Go west on Highway 14 from Walden to mile 5.9, then go north 0.6 miles to parking area. Or, go 4.4 miles north to parking area on north side of property. Timber activity may be present. Red Canyon Go 1/2 mile west from Walden on Highway 14 to CR 12W, then go 5.3 miles west to CR 18. Go another 4.5 miles west to CR 5 and then 1 mile north to Delaney Butte Lakes State Wildlife Area. Go west on CR 20 for 4.5 miles to oil well area, then take two-track road 1 mile. Ridge Road Go 1.2 miles west of Walden on Highway 14 to CR 12W, turn and then go 5.3 miles west to CR 18, turn and go another 4.5 miles west to CR 5, and then go south 1.7 miles on CR 5 to the parking area. Sand Creek Access is only from Adams State Trust Lands or from Colorado State Forest State Park. Spring Creek Go 6 miles southeast of Walden on Highway 14 to CR 21. Turn and go 4 miles south on CR 21 to CR 32, then go 1.2 miles east on CR 32 to property. Access also from Cohagen State Trust Lands to the north and from surrounding BLM lands. Taylor Draw Go south from Rand on Highway 125 for 2.2 miles to CR 21, which turns into FSR 740. Go 7.1 miles to Jack Creek. Take FSR 742 and 743 for 3.1 miles to gate. Three Sisters Go to Elk Mountain State Trust Lands. Access from either Elk Mountain or Colorado State Forest State Park. |

Brownlee Go 1/2 mile west from Walden on Highway 14, then turn and go 5.1 miles north on CR 12 to CR 18, turn and go 1.2 mile west to the property. Cowdrey Lake Go 7.5 north of Walden on Highway 125. Entrance to property west of road. Or, from Cowdrey, go 2 mile south on Highway 125. Delaney Butte Lakes Go 1/2 mile west of Walden on Highway 14 to CR 12, turn and go 5.3 miles west to CR 18, turn and go 4.5 miles west to CR 5, then turn again and go 1/2 mile north to the property.
Diamond J From Walden, go north on Highway 125. Parking areas are at 1 mile, 2 miles and 4 miles north of town. Irvine - fishing easements Go 1/2 mile west from Walden on Highway 14 to CR 12, turn and go west 5.1 miles to CR 18, turn and go west 4.5 miles to CR 5. Then turn and go southwest 1.5 miles to CR 22. On CR 22 go 2.5 miles. Lake John On Highway 14, go 1/2 mile west of Walden, turn onto CR 12 and go 8 miles west to CR 7, turn onto CR 7 and go 7 miles to property. Manville - fishing easements Go 1/2 mile west of Walden on Highway 14 to CR 12W, turn onto CR 12W and go west 5 miles to CR 18, turn and go 4.5 miles southwest to CR 5, then go 1/8 mile south to river. Murphy - fishing easements Go 1 mile east of Walden on CR 12. Odd Fellows From Walden go 1/2 mile west on Highway 14 to CR 12, then 5.1 miles west to CR 18, then 4.5 miles west to CR 5, then 1/2 mile north to CR 20, then 4.2 miles west to parking area. Follow signs south to the river. Owl Mountain Go 13 miles southeast of Walden on Highway 14 to CR 25, turn and go southwest 6 miles on CR 25. Richard Fishing access: Go to south end of Lake John SWA parking lot. Hunting access: from Walden go 1/2 mile west on Highway 14 to CR 12W, then 13.7 miles west to parking area. Hunting area east of CR 12W. Seymour Lake Go 14 miles southwest of Walden on Highway 14 to CR 28, turn and go 1 mile south to CR 11, turn and go 3 miles south to CR 288, then go 1/2 mile west to lake. Verner - fishing easements Go 1/2 mile west of Walden on Highway 14, then take CR 12 west for 5.1 miles, then take CR 18 for 1/2 mile west to access road. Walden Reservoir From Walden, go 1/2 mile west on Highway 14 to CR 12, then another 1/2 mile west to reservoir. |
