Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest

In 2007, the Uinta and Wasatch-Cache National Forests were administratively combined to make the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest with a total of about 2,100,000 acres. The vast majority of the forest is in Utah but there are small sections that cross the state lines into Idaho and Wyoming. As a large part of this forest covers the northern Wasatch Mountains around Provo, Salt Lake City and Ogden, the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest is one of the most heavily used forests in the National Forest system. Most of the ski slopes in Utah are within the boundaries of this forest, too.
