East Thermopolis, Wyoming

East Thermopolis is located on the east side of the Bighorn River from Thermopolis. East Thermopolis is home to the Wyoming Dinosaur Center, a private group that maintains a visitor center for the public and runs paleontology digs in the surrounding area.

There is a famous swinging suspension footbridge across the Bighorn River connecting East Thermopolis with the bathhouses and springs of Hot Springs State Park.

East Thermopolis was originally founded by people wanting to live near the hot springs but not be subject to the rules and regs of the incorporated City of Thermopolis. As the population has grown, East Thermopolis has developed (and enforces) its own rules and regs.
