Sunrise Park Resort
12 miles west of Greer, Arizona
Located near Sunrise Lake in Arizona's White Mountains, Sunrise Park Resort offers three mountains of the finest skiing in the western United States. Owned by the White Mountain Apache Tribe, Sunrise Park Resort is the largest ski resort in Arizona. Sunrise has 6 day lodges and numerous restaurants. Sunrise Park Lodge offers 100 rooms just minutes from the slopes with several different ski-and-stay packages available. The Lodge also features a lounge, 2 restaurants, whirlpool, indoor pool, sauna, game room and business/meeting facilities.
Snowboarding is allowed and there is a good terrain park (halfpipe, rails, jumps, fun boxes) on the mountain. There are also cross-country and snowmobile trails all through the area, and a special children's "ski-wee" area. The tubing hill is in an area separate from everything else (for everyone's safety), and there are tubes for rent.
The Sunrise Park Resort base area offers ski, snowboard and cross-country equipment rentals plus fully accredited ski instruction. Sunrise Park Resort also has more than 13 miles of well-groomed trails for those of the Nordic skiing persuasion.
Sunrise Park Resort is within easy reach of Phoenix, Tucson and Albuquerque via well-maintained paved roads. This is a beautiful area near the Mogollon Rim, right on the boundary between the White Mountain Apache Reservation and the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.
