Frisco Pioneer Village

You can experience Frisco's rich and colorful history for yourself at 2nd and Main at the Frisco Historic Park. You can tour eleven original 1880's buildings that were once log homes, hotels, saloons, an original log chapel, and even a dairy cattle ranch house. Another way you can learn more about life on Historic Main Street: view the photos at the Schoolhouse Museum, then take a stroll down today's Main Street and compare the new to the old. You can also experience the beginnings of Frisco through a virtual tour that takes you through the schoolhouse, the 1881 jail, and into a beautifully done photographic exploration of the Ute Indians who once lived here.

Inside these historic buildings are all kinds of period artifacts, old newspaper articles and interpretive signage displayed so as to help you understand what life was like back in those days when the cry of "Gold!" could empty entire cities and build new ones overnight. Most of these buildings came from places within 25 miles of Frisco, as did most of the artifacts inside. The group of folks who assembled this Historic Park did a really nice job. It's well worth a visit and a couple hours' exploration.
