Little Ski Hill was built in 1937 as a winter diversion for local forest workers. The hill is 2 miles north of McCall on Highway 55. Near the base of the hill is Bear Basin Nordic Area, a biathlon range with 30 kilometers of groomed cross-country ski trails (in season). The ski and snowboard hill is lit for night skiing.

Once upon a time the property was known as the Payette Lakes Ski Area. The ski area is probably most famous for its alpine jumps.
