Crow Agency is the capital of the Crow (Absáalooke) Nation. The capital was relocated here after the Crow Indian Reservation was reduced in size by an Act of Congress in the early 1900's. Every year, on the third weekend in August, the Crow Fair is held here. At that time, this place becomes the "Teepee Capital of the World" with as many as 1,500 teepees being erected between Crow Agency and the Little Bighorn River. Crow Agency is also home to the 2-year Little Big Horn College. The Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument and Cemetery are about 5 miles southeast of town. |
