Clark County is in the southeastern corner of Nevada with Arizona to the east and California to the southwest. Lake Mead, Las Vegas and the Mt. Charleston Wilderness Area are here. Near Mt. Charleston is where you'll also find the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort.
Clark County contains 7,910 square miles of land and another 180 square miles of water. The county is primarily desert and mountains, the only forested area being around Mt. Charleston. Urban Clark County has many amenities and services such as self storage Las Vegas locations, popular resorts, hotels and tours such as helicopter and horseback rides. As a destination resort area, Clark County also offers many, many golf courses, medical facilities and other amenities favored by the retired and vacationing.
The county was named for William Andrews Clark, a United States Senator and Montana copper baron who held many mining interests in the area back in the day. The county seat and largest city is Las Vegas.
